This tea was crafted at the request of a friend. We’d been discussing the various issues that confront new mothers, and how there are few options for assisting with them that are safe if you are nursing.
This is a gentler sleep aid than many of the options available through Western medicine, but it is safe to drink while nursing, and it is effective.
Due to the importance of keeping your body supplied with vitamins and nutrients while nursing, this blend contains two nutritives – Red Clover and Oatstraw. The two herbs also share a mild calming effect, helping to soothe frazzled nerves. Another benefit of Oatstraw is that it works as a mild anti-depressant, helping with another common after-effect of pregnancy.
Passionflower is mildly sedating, and also works to relieve stress and tension.
Lemon Balm is another soothing herb, working to calm both the mind and nerves, combined with a mood lightening effect.
Now for the basics:
Organic Ingredients: Red Clover, Oatstraw, Passionflower, Lemon Balm
Batch Size: 1 ounce (approximately 35-40 cups of tea)
Options: Loose Tea (Sample, Bag, Tin), Teabags (Single, Sample, Bag)

We do draw on science as well as tradition, but the path from research proving efficacy to formalized treatment is a long and complicated one. (Especially since plants can’t really be patented.)
