Katie’s Consolation began as a long conversation regarding tea, and some of the issues people with certain health conditions have with drinking tea.
We’d already started working on a medicinal tea for her, but we also wanted to create a tasty tea that would give her back some of what she had been missing.
Our first attempt was just white tea and jasmine, and it became our Leaf on the Wind. However, while she liked the taste, she missed the “green” taste of green tea. We ran a number of experiments, making variations on the concept with “greener” tasting herbs, to see if we could find one that would give something similar. In the end, Mister Tea’s instinct was correct, and he’d guessed the right herb from the start.
There are some medicinal benefits to this tea. To start, there are the standard health benefits of drinking any tea – antioxidants, which help the body to fight both the effect of aging, and are useful in avoiding or fighting cancer. Additionally, jasmine has long been used to help with relaxation and leveling the emotions. Nettle is one of the primary nutritive herbs, and it is similar to taking a multi-vitamin, just in a format the body is more readily able to utilize.
And now, for the basics:
