This tea came out of conversations with a wonderful group of friends who help us with one of the aspects of creating our teas.
When we first started making teas, I focused entirely on the medicinal. I called them really straight-forward things like “Cold Tea” and “Sinus Tea” and “Headache Tea.” The names were primarily for my reference, and I hadn’t thought about it further.
When we started Desert Sage Natural, Mister Tea and I realized that this needed to change.
The best inspirations often come out of conversations where ideas sort of fly about, and one sparks another, until someone comes up with “the one.”
However, this group of people doesn’t just help us with our tea names. They are also one of the reasons why our list of tea ideas is 7 pages long…
The Great Pumpkin, and its companion tea, When September Ends, were initially thought of during a chat about seasonal teas. The concept sounded so tasty, we had to try to take it from concept to cup. (I’ll also use just about any excuse to work with cardamom.)
There were eventually be two versions of this tea. One will be blended with the pumpkin powder that we will be able to get at any time of year. The second we will start experimenting with once we get our hands on actual pumpkins. With luck, we will also be able to make that version completely organic.
Now for the basics:
Organic Ingredients: Cinnamon, Cardamom, Vanilla Powder
Other Ingredients: Pumpkin Powder (certified no additives, preservatives, nothing but air dried fruit)
Batch Size: 5 ounces (approximately 20-25 cups of tea)
Options: Loose (Sample, Bag), Teabags (Single, Sample, Bag)
(Due to the powdery nature of this tisane, we do suggest teabags.)
