Caspian’s Chai (Organic Herbal Chai)

When I put together our chai sampler, I was reminded of the fact that we did not have a decaf chai.

My preference for creating decaf blends is to choose an herbal foundation for the tea, rather than using a decaffeinated tea.

Hawthorn Berries are one of my favourite consistent ingredients.  They are a staple for our work.

I was able to create the blend fairly swiftly, as balancing chais is becoming almost instinctive as this point.  For this blend I actually added the black pepper, which is a fairly common chai spice, but not one I use with any frequency.

We gave CS Lewis a nod with the name, adding a book-geek tea to our array.

Now for the basics:

Organic Ingredients:  Cardamom, Hawthorn Berries, Ginger Root, Cinnamon, Vanilla Powder, Black Pepper

Batch Size:  6.95 ounces, approximately 35-40 cups of tea
