The concept of this tea has been around for quite a while. It had been suggested that one of the obvious things that we lacked was a take on a ‘Cream Earl Grey.’
I put it onto the “work these up at some point” list, and it promptly disappeared into the back of my head somewhere.
Recently I realized I was running shy on new teas for our longest ‘Tea of the Month Club’ subscriber – at least ones that fit solidly within her primary preferences.
So I went through our ideas list, dusted off a few, and set to work.
‘Grey’s Secret Garden’ was named in reference to the book ‘The Secret Garden.’ I loved the descriptions of that secret, special, safe place. Curtains and fountains of roses, and living things all around. I get weird looks from time to time when I check on a plant or shrub and declare that it is still wick – because the word went from the book into my standard use vocabulary and has never left.
