The Lime in the Coconut (Organic Lime Coconut Green Kukicha)

The picture is zoomed in on the upper edge of a small metal tin. Inside is a blend of green tea, coconut, and lime peel. You can just barely see the top of the label that states "The Lime in the Coconut."

It probably took too long for us to realize that we could make a lime and coconut tea.

The flavours get combined so frequently, that it really should have been an obvious blend, from the moment we had both ingredients in the toolbox.

However, it wasn’t until I started playing with green kukicha that it sprang into my head as “we should make this thing.”

It turned out to be a fairly straight-forward combination. The green kukicha is a lighter weight (though quite rich) flavour that lends itself well to the addition of fruits.

The name took a little bit to settle on.

We knew from the moment we approached a lime and coconut tea that it would be attached to ‘Bones,’ specifically as a salute to Mr. Nigel Murray and his random facts.

We ended up deciding that the name of his last episode was too depressing, and chose “The Lime in the Coconut” as it fit the series naming conventions, and tied into the song sung for him.
