The Escali Primo is what we have been using since we opened. We should probably be surprised that it survived as long as it did, given the intensive use the poor thing received. Honestly, in the short term, we have picked up a second one while we research something a bit more sturdy.
I actually think this is a pretty amazing scale for what it was designed for. If you are looking for an easy to use, easy to store object for light kitchen use, it will probably last you for years and years.
If you are taring it or turning it off or on 40+ times a day, this is probably not the scale for you.
I do have one primary issue with it, regardless of what sort of use it is put to. Given the button design, I find the decision to make the on/off/tare all happen with the same button.
Overall, however, it has been a trooper. We pushed it far beyond the usage for which it was intended. We’ll let you know what we end up deciding on for a more longterm solution.
