A theme that runs through our tea posts, as well as being a strong one in my life these days is:
We get tea ideas from a long list of places. Some do not have anything, initially, to do with tea. (There are a couple ideas in the file that dropped into my head from listening to music.)
One of the things that is almost guaranteed to spark one is the realization that there is a “basic needs” medicinal that we haven’t crafted yet.
In this particular case, a lovely human who was moving out to our area had a bone health tea that saw regular use.
This made me realize that while we have ‘Bone Binder‘ – it was created for a very specific circumstance involving injury, rather than being a tonic for general health. It can be used as a general tonic, it just isn’t as effective for it as something directly created to the purpose would be.
I settled down with my books to double-check my memory and make sure that I selected the best options.
I combined that with knowledge of the individual’s taste preferences, and ‘SkeleTea’ was the result. As with many of our tonic teas, in addition to healthier bones, this will assist with digestion and cardiovascular health.
Any chronic health issue can be taxing on both of those systems, and it has always made sense to add a bit of support in for them as well.
