There’s a thing that happens with chronic illness and chronic stress and, as it turns out, recovery from life-threatening events.
I call it the “I feel better” experience. Where I really don’t yet, but I feel enough better as compared to the worst of whatever it was that I think I’m fine.
The teas selected for December and January were sent together because of one of those times, and also because the ideas for the two teas came at the same time, and were worked up in tandem.
My Feelings about 2025 became Resolute Resistance – a tea that started with Hope Defiant (Gunpowder Green, Earl Grey, and Lapsang) and grew with the additions of Tulsi, Oatstraw, and Vanilla. A tea intended to be grounding and stable, supportive and calming.

My Hopes for 2026 became Willful like a Weed – which also began with Hope Defiant (the two years are siblings after all) – and came into itself with the additions of Roasted Dandelion Root, Freeze Dried Strawberries, Dandelion Flower, and Red Clover.
If you are curious to find out more about the process of the creation of the two teas and why they were made for the months they were made for, joining the Tea of the Month Club gives you access to all the tea letters sent that I’ve posted to the website.
