For the Tarahumara, the larger souls are more capable of intelligence, thought, and action. The largest is located with the heart, the next largest within the head. From time to time the hear and mind souls need to travel outside the body. It is during these times that the person becomes drowsy and sleeps, and later remembers these travels, if at all, as dreams.
